Nahargarh Fort

Nahargarh Fort stands proudly on the rugged Aravalli Hills, offering one of the best panoramic views of Jaipur. Built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, this fort was part of the city’s strategic defense trio along with Amer and Jaigarh Forts. Its elevated location made it a natural watchtower, keeping a protective eye over the Pink City. Today, Nahargarh Fort is celebrated for its scenic beauty, architectural elegance, and peaceful hilltop environment that draws travelers, photographers, and history lovers alike.

A Blend of Strength and Artistic Grace

Unlike many forts known solely for warlike structures, Nahargarh is admired equally for its artistry. The fort’s long corridors, beautifully frescoed rooms, and Indo-European architectural touches reveal the refined taste of the Jaipur rulers. The fort’s name—“Nahargarh,” meaning “Abode of Tigers”—comes from local legends, adding mystery and charm to its heritage.
